Intended use

This peptide pool is intended for studying immune responses against BK polyomvirus (BKV) using immunoassays such as ELISpot and FluoroSpot. It induces cytokine secretion from antigen-specific human T cells. For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Description
This peptide pool induces secretion of e.g., IFN-γ from human CD4 and CD8 T cells. It contains 65 synthetic peptides derived from the BKV large T protein, small T protein, and VP1 protein. 50 of the peptides are MHC class I-restricted and 15 are MHC class II-restricted. The peptide pool is designed to stimulate T cells with a broad array of HLA class I supertypes. Sequence similarity to corresponding JC virus (JCV) peptides ranges from 60% to 100%, with a median sequence similarity of 80%.

Human PBMC (250,000 cells/well) were incubated for 20 h in the absence or presence of PepPool: BKV (CD4 + CD8), human, and the number of cells secreting IFN-γ was analyzed by ELISpot. Analysis was done with Mabtech IRIS.
